About a week ago we sent out a note asking for contributions to our 831 Responsible Development group as we try to have some say in development plans for 831 Water Street.
We are very gratified that so many of you generously stepped forward to contribute. Thank you all very much; with support from so many, we met our current fundraising goal!
It is clear that the developer, Iman Novin, plans to max out his project to the very limits of what state law will allow without regard to its impact on many nearby Eastside neighborhoods. He has also made it clear that he intends to pursue “streamlined” project approval, meaning there would be no Planning Commission or City Council hearings.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. We will continue to work with the local lawyer we have retained, pursuing any and all legal options available on behalf of the residents of our town. Thank you for being a part of — and supporting — this effort!
If you haven’t already done so:
- Please encourage family members, friends, coworkers, and others to also join our mailing list by subscribing at https://831responsibledevelopment.org/subscribe.
- And please also ask them to sign our e-petition at https://831responsibledevelopment.org/petition.
Thank you again for your critical (and generous) support!
